Warriors Unveil 2014-15 Slate Alternate Uniforms Through First-of-its-Kind Exclusive Social Influencer Event
Forward Harrison Barnes Unveils Uniform To Influencers at Twitter Headquarters In San Francisco; Team to Wear Alternate Uniforms on Saturday Games Throughout the 2014-15 Season

The Golden State Warriors alternate uniforms for the 2014-15 season were unveiled tonight during an exclusive event attended by a variety of social media influencers. An industry first for an unveiling of this nature, the Warriors invited influencers to join Warriors forward Harrison Barnes at Twitter’s Headquarters in San Francisco to reveal the team’s official 2014-15 Slate Alternate Uniform for the first time.
“We have the best fans in the NBA, and with Twitter and other social media giants being headquartered in our backyard, it made sense for us to allow the power of Twitter and social media, along with our fans, to tell the story of our latest alternate uniform,” said Warriors President and Chief Operating Officer Rick Welts. “As an organization, we are always striving to be at the forefront of innovation and constantly looking for original and unique ways to engage our tremendous community and fan base.”
Designed by adidas, the Warriors 2014-15 alternate uniforms feature a new color for the NBA, Slate, which is being added to the team’s identity for the 2014-15 season. Slate represents not only the technology and innovation synonymous with the Bay Area, but also the body armor for the team on the court. The Warriors will debut the Slate Alternate Uniforms when the team faces the Charlotte Hornets at home on Saturday, November 15, and continue to wear the Slate Alternate Uniforms on Saturday games throughout the 2014-15 regular season (Does not include Opening Night). Slate swingman jerseys are available for presale with shipping to begin as early as Wednesday, October 1.
Leading up to tonight’s event, the Warriors reached out to 10 social media influencers and Warriors fans with an invitation to participate in an exclusive, secret event to be held at an undisclosed location. Concurrently, the Warriors unveiled a teaser video featuring Barnes which featured a hint as to what would be revealed. On the day of the event, the influencers were eventually taken to Twitter Headquarters, where they were encouraged to tell and share the story of the unveiling of the Slate Alternate Uniform through their own social media channels. Additionally, each influencer received an authentic Slate Alternate jersey signed by Barnes, as well as a Slate Warriors t-shirt featuring his/her personalized Twitter handle.
In addition to the influencers in attendance, Twitter President of Global Revenue Adam Bain was also on hand to help host the event at the company’s San Francisco headquarters. The influencers were selected based on a variety of factors related to their social media following, content, reputation and engagement, and included: Ian Padgham, Vine Artist; Lance Fresh, NBA TV and Bleacher Report reporter; John Shahidi, Warriors fan and influencer; Ray Almeda, Warriors fan and influencer; Maggie Pilloton, Warriors fan and influencer; Jeff Dejelo, Warriors fan and influencer; Prakash Janakiraman, Warriors fan and influencer; and Jessica Shyba, Warriors fan and influencer.
